Lindsey Puddicombe, winner of 2nd Angad Hundal Memorial Award' sent this message to give us update on her studies. We are very proud of what she has accomplished and excited about things to come!

I have been meaning to touch base to see how you are as well. I have attached my transcript, and yes I am enjoying my program so much.

I am going into my third year of Psychology and Health Studies at Dalhousie. I still play varsity volleyball for the University of King’s College. I am a Resident Assistant on campus at Howe Hall and work in two neuroscience labs. I am the Vice President of the Canadian Blood Society at Dalhousie and a co-prez/founder of the King’s College Students for Sustainability Society. I also volunteer for the Veterans Memorial Hospital every week. After I finish my degree I hope to pursue my Masters and/or Ph.D. in Epidemiology before pursuing Medicine. So I just wanted to say I am striving for the excellence you and your family instilled in me through this award.

My mom says hi back and she hopes you are doing well :) If you have time maybe we can meet for coffee to catch up!

Sincerely,
Lindsey

Message and Video from Noah Shields, 1st Angad Hundal Memorial Award Winner after graduating from the aviation school and becoming a licensed pilot.

I hope you are doing well! I just wanted to write you to say thanks again for your support early in my training. I have been working pretty hard the last couple years, and I am happy to say that I will soon graduate from the Associate of Arts in Mission Aviation program here at Prairie College in Alberta. Last Friday, I hit the 200 hours of experience that is required to apply for your Commercial Pilot's license, and so I'm super blessed and excited to be able to say that I have officially become a commercial pilot. Next week I will continue my Multi-engine IFR training, and hope to be looking for a job at a regional airline sometime near the end of next month. It's been a crazy journey, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

None of this would have happened without the support of people like yourself, and I want you to know that I will never forget the generosity that you extended to me. Receiving your scholarship really meant a lot to me; it was truly something special. I had never, and don't think I will ever, receive an award quite like what the one you gave me.

I wish you the best as you continue your efforts to promote good character in the local youth, and I thank you again for your enormous generosity. I look forward to moving back to Nova Scotia eventually, I really miss my family and friends on the east coast.

Many thanks,
-Noah Shields
